I installed handy filter the other day on my computer to see if I could stop myself getting distracted by certain websites (cough cough facebook) and didn't like the program, so I tried to uninstall it.
When you try to do so, it asks you for a password, so I tried using the admin password and it didn't work. I tried the original password too, in the email they sent me when I signed up, but that didn't work either.
I got fed up and tried to use a force uninstaller program, but that removed the program and left my internet completely blocked, so don't try that.
It turns out, all you actually need to do is don't enter any password on the uninstall screen. That's how simple it is. Just go to uninstall the program normally and don't put anything in the password box, just click next. It will then go ahead and uninstall the program completely normally for you. Perfect!
Thank for you information to uninstall this Software.

ReplyDeleteI got a feeling that HF is actually a keylogger/adware etc. It is highly recommended that people do not sign up for this shit. Use a paid Web Filter, such as Fortinet. And to top it off, this application is based in Istanbul, not the safest of countries.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this.
